This article explains how standalone (non-integrated) venues can control your venue status using the Venue Dashboard. It also includes info on common issues that can cause your venue to be shown offline unexpectedly.
Opening Your Venue
Boppl DOES NOT auto-open your venue; you will need to open your venue each day when service opens. You can do this by tapping the status indicator in the top left corner (if you are offline this will say
SERVICE CLOSED). Select
OPEN VENUE in the modal that appears.
If you try to open your venue outside the configured trading times, it will automatically close itself. If you want to open earlier, please adjust your trading times in Boppl admin.
Closing Your Venue
Boppl DOES automatically close your venue at the end of service, as per the trading times you have configured in Boppl admin.
If you need to close temporarily during service, tap the status indicator in the top left corner and select
CLOSE SERVICE. This will prevent any new orders being submitted. When you're ready, simply tap the indicator again and select
Keeping Your Venue Open During Service
During the Trading Times you have configured in Boppl admin, Boppl will poll the status of your dashboard every ~1min to ensure we are still able to send you customer orders. In order for Boppl to send new customer orders to your Venue Dashboard, the below must always be true:
- Tablet has internet connectivity
- Tablet screen is awake (disable sleep mode)
- Tablet screen is unlocked (disable auto-lock)
- POS or Venue Dashboard app is running/active on-screen
- Other apps are not being used on the tablet
